A Sample Article

This is a simple article, marked up in HTML. It is the example HTML document used to demonstrate how STYLEVISION can generate schema files, XML files, and stylesheets from an HTML document. It contains headlines, paragraphs, two lists, a table, an image, a hyperlink, horizontal rules, and inline italics. A number of these elements have attributes.

It is important to note that the HTML-to-XML conversion involves two parallel processes:

Output

After you have created the schema tree, you can generate and save the following:

  1. A schema (DTD or XML Schema) based on the schema tree you have created
  2. An XML file
  3. Stylesheets (STYLEVISION Power Stylesheet (SPS) and XSLT)

These outputs are each based on either the schema tree or the STYLEVISION Power Stylesheet you have designed, and the dependency can be represented in the following table:

DTD XML Schema XML STYLEVISION Power Stylesheet XSLT
Schema Tree
STYLEVISION Power Stylesheet
